MRC Wellington conducts 3-day civil defence training prog

Chennai, Oct 30 (UNI) The Madras Regimental Centre (MRC), Wellington, conducted a three-day specialised training programme for Civil Defence personnel.
The programme, which concluded at its Centre in the Nilgiris district, was conducted under the joint initiative ‘Train with Your Army’ Camp, aimed at strengthening civil preparedness and civil-military coordination.
Aligned with the union Government’s vision of a vibrant and future-ready Civil Defence force, the programme seeks to equip and empower Civil Defence Master Trainers with specialised skills to train volunteers in their respective areas. It also brings stakeholders together on a common platform to promote wider participation in national security, enhance synergy and interoperability, and facilitate
a coordinated and effective response to crisis situations.
The training encompasses three key domains -- threat awareness; protection and emergency response; and communication and coordination. Key areas include modern and hybrid warfare, drone awareness, air-raid threats, critical infrastructure protection, fire safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) awareness, casualty management, search and rescue, emergency communication, cyber hygiene and incident response command.
The initiative leverages the Indian Army’s operational expertise to strengthen institutional preparedness and foster a ‘Whole of Nation Approach’ (WoNA) to National security, enabling stakeholders to work in unison against emerging security threats, natural disasters and man-made emergencies.
