Nashik sets Guinness World Record with 501 conch shells blown simultaneously

Nashik, Oct 26 (UNI) Nashik created a Guinness World Record on Sunday evening by having 501 conch shells blown simultaneously on the banks of the Godavari River, marking a significant milestone ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027.
The record was achieved near Deomaledar Ground on the occasion of Kojagiri Purnima, in the presence of a representative of Guinness World Records. The collective blowing of 501 conch shells surpassed the previous record of 303 people blowing conch shells simultaneously in the United States.
The event was organised as part of the celebrations leading up to the flag-hoisting ceremony of the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela, scheduled for October 31.
Of the 501 participants who took part in the record-setting event, 251 will also blow conch shells during the Kumbh Mela flag-hoisting ceremony on October 31, adding a spiritual dimension to the landmark occasion.
