BKT Tyres accelerates CVR presence in TN, opens new distribution hub at Sankagiri in Salem dist

Chennai, Sep 24 (UNI) Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), a global leader in the Off-Highway tyre industry and an emerging player in India's on-highway tyre market, on Thursday strengthened its Commercial Vehicle Radial (CVR) presence in Tamil Nadu with the inauguration of a new distribution facility at Sankagiri in Salem district.
Operated by authorised distributor Sri Jayanthi Roadways, the 10,000 sqft facility will enhance availability of BKT Tyres CVR tyres portfolio across eight key markets including Salem, Sankagiri, Namakkal, Erode, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Karur, while supporting closer engagement with fleet operators and channel partners.
The initiative reinforces BKT Tyres’ focus on strengthening its presence in the commercial vehicle segment and advancing its ‘Elevate Your Drive’ proposition.
Tamil Nadu is among India's most economically significant states and a key contributor to the country's industrial, logistics and transportation sectors. The state's extensive road infrastructure, high freight movement and well-developed commercial transport ecosystem make it one of the most strategic markets for the commercial vehicle tyre segment.
Strategically positioned in Sankagiri, a major trucking and logistics hub, connecting Salem, Coimbatore and Kerala the new facility reinforces the firm's commitment to expanding its commercial vehicle tyre business in high-potential transport markets. The hub will serve as a key touchpoint for fleet operators, dealers, and channel partners while strengthening its physical availability in the region.
Amitkumar Agarwal, National Sales Head, Commercial Vehicle Radial Tyres, BKT, said: “Tamil Nadu is one of BKT Tyres priority growth markets for the commercial vehicle tyre segment, given its strong transport ecosystem, developed infrastructure and mature fleet operator base. As we continue to expand our on-highway business in India, strengthening our presence in key freight and logistics hubs
is critical to building closer relationships with customers and improving access to our products."
The initiative comes as BKT Tyres continues to expand its CVR portfolio in India, with a focus on addressing the evolving needs of the commercial transportation sector.
