Aramex, GMR Airports sign MoU to boost international cargo logistics

Hyderabad, Oct 14 (UNI) Global logistics provider Aramex has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GMR Airports Limited (GAL) to strengthen express and freight logistics at all GMR-operated airports in India, facilitating smoother import and export operations and improving global market access for businesses, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The MoU was signed at GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo (GHAC) and envisages enhanced infrastructure at express cargo terminals, including dedicated truck docks, screening systems and cargo-handling space. The companies will also explore a warehousing facility near the terminal with dedicated airside corridor access and built-in customs clearance capabilities.
The proposed infrastructure is expected to improve operational efficiency, streamline international cargo movement and strengthen trade connectivity, particularly with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The two companies are working towards developing the proposed infrastructure by March 2027, subject to definitive agreements.
Aramex Group CEO Amadou Diallo, Managing Director of Aramex India Veena Bhogaonkar, and Regional CEO for the GCC and Indian Subcontinent Abbas Panju said the partnership would strengthen logistics capabilities and help businesses access international markets more efficiently, according to a company statement on Wednesday.
