Adani, Jabil JV to assemble AI, data centre hardware

Mumbai, Oct 14 (UNI) Adani Enterprises Limited has officially announced that it has signed a non-binding MoU with Florida-based American multinational Jabil Inc to set the framework for a proposed 50:50 joint venture to assemble artificial intelligence (AI) and data centre hardware in India.
According to the official statement, the proposed joint venture company would produce AI racks, servers, storage and networking gear, along with the power distribution units, liquid-cooling systems and transformers to keep such hardware running.
The proposed joint venture company is expected to have multi-gigawatt rack manufacturing capacity and offer installation as well as commissioning services.
However, the MoU is non-binding, and neither company has disclosed the investment size, timeline or financial terms.
For Adani Enterprises, the tie-up adds a hardware manufacturing leg to a data centre business that is already growing.
Through AdaniConneX, the company has more than 960 MW of tied-up capacity, 65.4 MW in operation and a stated aim for a 2 GW platform by 2030.
Making racks and cooling systems in India could let the group supply more of the equipment its own data centres and its customers’ sites need.
For Jabil, which reported USD 36 billion in revenue in fiscal 2026, the venture widens its footprint in a market it considers increasingly important.
Adani Enterprises has clarified that the proposed joint venture remains subject to execution of definitive agreements, receipt of applicable approvals and satisfaction of customary conditions.
Commenting on the MoU signed with Jabil, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said, “The AI revolution will demand far more than just breakthroughs in algorithms. It will require an entire new industrial architecture where energy, hyperscale infrastructure, advanced computing and precision manufacturing converge to power the intelligence economy”.
Jabil plans to expand its engineering and manufacturing footprint in India’s data centre market.
“The signing of this MoU is the next step forward in our shared efforts to establish a scaled AI infrastructure manufacturing platform in India, a market we believe will become increasingly important for both domestic and global AI infrastructure demand," Jabil Inc CEO Mike Dastoor said.
