AP regional conference inks MoUs worth Rs 21,498 cr, projects to create 56,945 jobs

Visakhapatnam, Oct 7 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government on Wednesday signed 31 MoUs involving investments of Rs 21,498 crore, with the potential to generate 56,945 jobs, at the first of five regional conferences being held ahead of the 31st CII Partnership Summit 2026.
A further 33 projects worth Rs 3,518.73 crore were grounded or inaugurated at the conference held at IIM Visakhapatnam, with the potential to create 9,449 jobs, Industries and Commerce Department said in a release here.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Industries and Commerce Minister T G Bharath and Roads and Buildings and Infrastructure and Investments Minister B C Janardhan Reddy addressed investors at the conference, organised in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The 31st CII Partnership Summit will be held in Visakhapatnam on November 12 and 13 under the theme “Navigating the New World Order: Trade, Technology, Trust and Thought Leadership.”\\
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will host the Summit for the eighth time.
The State Government said the regional conference was aimed at taking investment and enterprise discussions to different parts of Andhra Pradesh.
The remaining conferences will be held in Kakinada on October 12, Amaravati on October 16, Ananthapuramu on October 23 and Tirupati on October 26.
Since June 2024, Andhra Pradesh has built an investment pipeline of 714 projects worth Rs 22.6 lakh crore, with the potential to create 19.3 lakh jobs.
Of these, 473 projects worth Rs 16.6 lakh crore have received Government Orders, while 247 projects worth Rs 4.7 lakh crore have been grounded.
The Visakhapatnam region alone has attracted a pipeline of 196 projects involving Rs 7.90 lakh crore and potential employment of 5.37 lakh since June 2024.
Of these, 114 projects worth Rs 6.12 lakh crore have been approved and 61 projects worth Rs 2.19 lakh crore have been grounded. 6.
The initiatives are part of the State's Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, which targets a USD 2.4 trillion economy, USD 500 billion in investment and 50 lakh jobs.
The State has also introduced 26 industrial policies and is seeking to move from “Ease of Doing Business” to “Speed of Doing Business.”
The Government said 11 international ministers and 26 international speakers from 21 countries have so far confirmed participation in the 31st CII Partnership Summit.
The curtain raiser for the Summit will be held in New Delhi on Thursday, where Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will address members of the diplomatic community, industry leaders, investors and the media and invite them to the Visakhapatnam Summit.
