AP's speedy clearances, infrastructure attracting investors: Rammohan Naidu

Visakhapatnam, Oct 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh's speedy approval process and infrastructure development are attracting major investments into the State, union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said on Wednesday.
Addressing the CII Partnership Summit regional conference at IIM Visakhapatnam, he said the APIIC single-window system was facilitating speedy clearances and encouraging industrialists to choose Andhra Pradesh as their investment destination.
He said the Visakhapatnam Industrial Economic Region would play a key role in transforming the city into a "Gateway of Economy", while the newly opened Bhogapuram International Airport would contribute significantly to the State's economic development.
Rammohan said 216 mega projects involving proposed investments of Rs 8.67 lakh crore had come to Andhra Pradesh during the last two years.
Foreign investments in the State increased from USD 92 million in 2023-24 to USD 608 million in 2025-26, he said.
Major industrial groups, including Google, ArcelorMittal-Nippon Steel, Tata Power, NTPC and Reliance, were showing interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh, reflecting confidence in the State's investment ecosystem, he added.
State Minister for Investments and Infrastructure and Roads and Buildings B C Janardhan Reddy said the government was committed to ensuring that investments coming into the State moved forward without hurdles.
He said the State was focusing on roads, ports, terminals and logistics networks to connect industries with markets across India and abroad.
Infrastructure development was being accorded priority with the objective of attracting industries and creating 20 lakh jobs, he added.
Janardhan Reddy said the Centre had sanctioned the Amaravati Outer Ring Road project at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 31,000 crore. He also said 23 port and harbour projects had been identified, including greenfield ports at Machilipatnam, Ramayapatnam and Mulapeta, which were expected to become operational by March 2027.
The proposed Andhra Pradesh Logistics Policy envisaged four rail-connected multimodal logistics parks, six integrated logistics parks, 22 truck terminals and 300 cold-storage facilities, he said.
He said the Visakhapatnam region had significant potential in marine and seafood processing, pharmaceuticals, petroleum and energy and IT, while Srikakulam had opportunities in marine products, agro-processing, metals and minerals and Vizianagaram in aquaculture, engineering and allied industries.
State Minister T G Bharat, MPs M Sri Bharat and Kalasetti Appalanaidu, CII and IIM officials, and Collectors of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts attended the conference.
