Cordelia Sky Unveiled At Mumbai Drone Show As Cruise Operator Announces Kochi Homeport And Third Ship For 2027

Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) Cordelia Cruises has expanded from one ship to two with the arrival of Cordelia Sky, unveiled at a Mumbai drone show marking the company’s five-year anniversary.
The event featured 1,500 drones and also showcased plans for a third vessel, Cordelia Sun, expected to join the fleet in 2027. Cordelia Empress will begin operating from Kochi later this month, giving the company a second homeport alongside Mumbai, a release stated.
Since beginning operations in 2021, Cordelia Cruises says it has carried more than 800,000 guests. With both ships in service, the fleet will have 1,798 staterooms and capacity for about 3,596 passengers at double occupancy—a roughly 126% increase over its previous capacity. The company says the expanded fleet will allow simultaneous departures from western and southern India and offer more destinations and trip lengths.
Cordelia Sky is 258 metres long and has 1,002 staterooms, including 245 mini suites. Its facilities include 10 dining venues, 11 bars and lounges, a 930-seat theatre, two pools, five hot tubs and more than 30,000 square feet of open deck space. Activities include live shows, sports, recreation and wellness facilities, as well as areas for children and teenagers. Dining options include Indian and international cuisines, with vegetarian and Jain meals available.
The ship’s first commercial sailing from Mumbai is scheduled for October 23, 2026. Planned trips range from two-night cruises at sea to voyages to Goa and Lakshadweep. It will also offer seven-night Southeast Asian cruises from Chennai, visiting destinations such as Phuket, Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
Cordelia Empress is due to start commercial operations from Kochi on October 25, 2026. Its itineraries will include weekend cruises, Lakshadweep trips featuring Minicoy and Kavaratti, and international voyages to Malé and Colombo. The company expects its Kochi operations to make cruises more accessible in southern India and support local tourism businesses.
Cordelia Cruises operates under Waterways Leisure Tourism Limited and says its expansion will grow India’s cruise tourism market by adding ships, departure ports, itineraries and onboard experiences.
