Singapore representatives express readiness to set up semiconductor industry in Telangana

Hyderabad, Sep 16 (UNI) Singapore representatives on Wednesday expressed readiness to set up a semiconductor industry in Telangana during a meeting with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at the Assembly here.
Augustine Lee, Permanent Secretary of the Energy Market Division under Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry, led the delegation. The Chief Minister invited the representatives to invest in Telangana and assured them of full government support.
Mr Revanth Reddy briefed the delegation on the Musi River rejuvenation project and development of the Bharat Future City.
He said the first phase of Musi rejuvenation would cover the stretch from the confluence of the Musi and Eesa rivers to Gandhi Sarovar, with plans for riverfront development and promotion of a night economy.
The Chief Minister said Hyderabad was being transformed into a knowledge hub as well as a major tourism destination. He said Harvard, Oxford, MIT and London Business School had agreed to establish offshore campuses in Hyderabad.
He said Bharat Future City was being developed as a net-zero city and urged the Singapore representatives to provide investment and financial support for the state's development. The delegation responded positively to the investment proposals.
Mr Revanth Reddy also invited the Singapore delegation to attend the Telangana Global Summit, scheduled to be held at Future City in December.
Government Advisor Ramakrishna Rao, South Asia Senior Director Dr Francis Chong, Consul-General William Chik and other Singapore representatives attended the meeting, according to an official statement.
