Hyd: KTR questions valuation of IDBI Bank, seeks transparency in proposed disinvestment

Hyderabad, Oct 31 (UNI) BRS Working President and former Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday questioned the valuation process in the proposed disinvestment of IDBI Bank and sought clarification from the union Government over reports of alleged undervaluation.
In a post on 'X', KTR said public sector undertakings and public sector banks were national assets that needed to be protected.
Questioning the reported changes in rules and valuation methodology after bids fell below the reserve price, he asked whether the bank's valuable real estate assets, including prime land in Hyderabad, had been adequately considered in the valuation.
He also sought to know why the concerns raised by IDBI Bank employees were not being addressed.
The union Government owed the country clear answers before selling the public sector bank to a private player, KTR said, questioning the urgency behind the proposed disinvestment.
