Torrent Green Energy wins 300 MW wind project

New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) Torrent Green Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Torrent Power Limited, has bagged a 300 MW wind power project under the Wind Tranche-XVIII auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The company received the Letter of Award on June 11, after emerging as the successful bidder in a competitive bidding process. The project will be developed at a tariff of ₹3.97 per unit and is expected to be commissioned within 24 months of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) execution. The estimated investment in the project is approximately ₹2,650 crore.
Torrent Power, part of the ₹45,000 crore Torrent Group, is steadily strengthening its renewable energy footprint, with the latest win pushing its capacity under development in the renewables sector to 3.3 GWp. This is in line with the company’s broader strategy to pivot towards green energy and contribute to India’s ambitious goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
The company is also actively exploring other clean energy pathways including Pumped Hydro Storage and Green Hydrogen, besides maintaining a diversified renewable portfolio of wind and solar projects.
Torrent Power currently boasts of a consolidated revenue of ₹29,165 crore and is among the leading integrated power utilities in the country.
