RCB sign Muzarabani, KKR bring in Shukla as replacements

Bengaluru, May 19 (UNI) In a busy day of player movements in the ongoing IPL 2025, two franchises have announced key signings to reinforce their squads for the remainder of the season.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have confirmed the signing of Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani as a replacement for South African fast bowler Lungisani Ngidi, who will leave to join his national side on international duty.

The replacement comes into effect from May 26. Muzarabani, a seasoned international with 70 T20Is and 78 wickets to his name, has also played 12 Tests and 55 ODIs for Zimbabwe. RCB have secured his services for Rs 75 lakh, expecting the pacer to strengthen their bowling attack in the crucial stages of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed Madhya Pradesh’s mystery spinner Shivam Shukla as a replacement for West Indies allrounder Rovman Powell, who has been ruled out due to personal reasons.

Shukla, known for his deceptive spin and variations, has previously served as a net bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad. His inclusion provides KKR with an exciting domestic talent, aimed at bolstering their bowling resources as they continue their title defence. Shukla is expected to make his debut in KKR’s upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 25.
