CM flags off 58 highway patrol vehicles to strengthen road safety in Bihar

Patna, Sep 26 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday flagged off 58 new highway patrol vehicles aimed at strengthening road safety and ensuring smooth and uninterrupted traffic movement on national highways across the state.
While flagging off the vehicles at a function held, the Chief Minister said that the deployment of the highway patrol vehicles is aimed at ensuring safe, smooth and uninterrupted traffic on national highways, while also reducing fatalities caused by road accidents. The initiative is part of efforts aligned with the Government of India''s Vision 2030, which seeks to reduce road accident deaths by 50 per cent.
Under the first phase of the highway patrol scheme, a total of 61 highway patrol vehicles equipped with modern safety and emergency-response equipment have been deployed along approximately 3,000 kilometres of accident-prone national highways in Bihar.
