Nitish instructs for early completion of 4 lane bridge over river Ganga in Patna

Patna, June 8 (UNI) Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar instructed for the early completion of the four-lane bridge being constructed parallel to Mahatma Gandhi Setu over the river Ganga.

Accompanied by Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, the Chief Minister asked the authorities here on Sunday to accelerate the pace of construction of the bridge for its early completion.

He said that after completion, the people will get relief from the road jams due to excessive traffic load on the Mahatma Gandhi Setu. The new bridge would make commuting more comfortable between North and South Bihar, and the people living in Muzaffarpur, Saran, and Vaishali will be directly benefited as they would reach the state capital, Patna, conveniently using the new bridge.

Kumar said he would regularly monitor the construction of the bridge and asked the authorities to maintain the quality of the construction.

The Chief Minister also inspected the approach roads connecting the under-construction four-lane bridge.

Additional Chief Secretary, Road Construction Department, Mihir Kumar Singh apprised the Chief Minister of the details of the construction of the four-lane bridge. He said that the right lane approach roads were also being constructed at both ends of the 14.5 km long Bridge.
