Recruitment of doctors, para medical staff soon: Bihar Health Minister Pandey

Patna, May 22 (UNI) Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey on Thursday said that recruitment of doctors and para medical staff would be made soon to fill up vacancies.
Pandey, during a meeting of his department, directed the authorities concerned to take steps for recruitment of doctors and para medical staff soon to fill up the existing vacancies. Availability of sufficient number of doctors and para medical staff was essential to provide quality medical facilities to people of the state, he added.
"Health University and a unit of 400 bed capacity of Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan Hospital based in Rajbanshi Nagar locality of Patna would be inaugurated in August month," the Health Minister said, adding that a Swasthya Mela would be organised in June.
All arrangements should be made for mass yoga programme at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna on International Yoga Day on June 21, he directed. Number of ambulances had been increased from 1,775 to 1,850 for providing better transportation facilities for patients to nearest hospitals even from far flung areas of Bihar, he further added.
"All newly set up 123 oxygen plants should be made functional within a month," Pandey said, adding that arrangements for pathological tests like Haemoglobin, Diabetes, Malaria, HIV, Dengue and others should be made at Health and Wellness Centres. Kits should be made available to these Centres for fast and error free pathological tests, he added.
