Ensuring equal opportunities for women farmers is Govt’s priority: Sinha

Patna, Oct 15 (UNI) Bihar Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said on Thursday that ensuring respect, equal opportunities and appropriate participation for women farmers in agricultural development is a priority for the state government.
Addressing women farmers from various districts of Bihar at an event organised to mark Women Farmers’ Day 2026 and the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026, Sinha highlighted the vital contribution of women to agriculture.
He said women play an important role in every stage of farming, from sowing seeds and transplanting to weeding, harvesting and crop processing. Agricultural development cannot be envisioned without their labour, experience and participation. Therefore, it is essential to integrate women farmers into the mainstream of agriculture and ensure that they receive the benefits of government schemes.

Raipur, Oct 18 (UNI) Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has termed reports circulating on social media and in some print media publications regarding a proposed sale of the plant as false and misleading.
The Ministry of Steel has refuted these claims through its official social media handle. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has also described the reports as false and baseless.
