Three years RI to Oriental Insurance officials for Insurance Fraud

Patna, June 30 (UNI) The CBI Court today sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment three accused, including two officers of the Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) and an insurance agent, in a case related to insurance fraud in OICL.
The court also slapped them with total fine of Rs. 67,000.
Those imprisoned include the then Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) Ashok Kumar of OICL DO-II, Bank Road, Jaitpur Kothi, Patna, then Assistant Amrendra Kumar Mishra of Division Office, Purnea and Sameer Kant Jha, Insurance Agent.
CBI had registered the case on May 3, 2005 against five accused including the then Branch Manager, OICL, Saharsa Ashok Kumar, the then AAO, OICL, DO-II, Bank Road, Jaitpur Kothi, Patna; the then DO, OICL, Amrendra Kumar Mishra, the then Asstt., OICL, Division Office, Purnea, Mohan Mishra a private person for cheating the Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. to the tune of Rs. 50,000 by using forged cattle policies in the false name.
During the investigation, it was found that the accused, the then DO, (expired) OICL, Saharsa and Ashok Kumar, the then AAO, OICL, DO-II, Bank Road, Jaitpur Kothi, Patna issued the cattle policies in the false names of a former MLA of Supaul and another person through forged documents and caused loss to the Oriental Insurance Company Ltd., Saharsa to the tune of Rs. 50,000.
CBI filed a charge sheet on September 30, 2005 against accused Shiv Shankar Gupta (Public Servant), the then Branch Manager, OICL, Saharsa, Ashok Kumar, Narendra Kumar Mishra, the then DO, OICL, Saharsa, Amrendra Kumar Mishra, Mohan Mishra and Sameer Kant Jha.
Three accused Shiv Shankar Gupta, the then Narendra Kumar Mishra and Mohan Mishra expired during trial.
