Four including Kuki militants shot dead in Manipur

Imphal, June 30 (UNI) Four persons suspected to be Kuki militants including a woman were shot dead in an ambush at K Mongjang village in Churachandpur district today.



Police suspected the involvement of some other Kuki militant groups for the ambush. All of them

were travelling in a car. The bodies were brought to Churachandpur district headquarter.

There are about 40 Kuki militant groups operating in Manipur and 25 of them have signed Suspension of Operation (SOO) with Manipur government and Central government in 2008.

Most of the leaders and cadres are from Myanmar.

Manipur government has decided to withdraw the agreement after May 3, 2023 Manipur crisis alleging violations of Ground rules by the Kuki militants.
