Odisha coast faces fresh cyclonic threat days after Arnab fury

Bhubaneswar, Oct 31 (UNI)Odisha's coastal districts are bracing for squally weather from November 2 evening as a fresh depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm, days after Cyclone Arnab spared the State from major devastation, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
The well-marked low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea concentrated into a depression at 11.30 am on Saturday. It is likely to intensify into a deep depression within the next 12 hours and further strengthen into a cyclonic storm during the subsequent 12 hours.
The system is expected to move towards the west-central Bay of Bengal and reach near the Andhra Pradesh coast by the evening of November 2.
