Agartala unrest follows police water cannon response to job

Agartala, Sep 24 (UNI) Agartala experienced civil unrest on Thursday when job aspirants who completed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) staged a demonstration demanding the immediate appointment of all 1,856 candidates who passed the TET-I and TET-II assessments during 2024.
The protest intensified when police deployed a water cannon to break up the gathering and arrested numerous participants. Approximately one hundred demonstrators were detained and transported to the AD Nagar Police Lines facility.
The protesters emphasised that prolonged delays in the recruitment timeline had caused severe financial strain and psychological distress for the candidates and their families.
