Drug-free youth key to Viksit Bharat, prosperous Bihar, state to sign MoU with Brahma Kumaris: CM

Patna, Aug 2 ( UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary Sunday said that a drug-free young generation is essential for achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat and a prosperous Bihar, and announced that the state government would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Brahma Kumaris to strengthen the anti-drug campaign through wider public participation.
Addressing a gathering at Lok Bhawan after participating in the "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat" campaign via video conferencing, the Chief Minister said the success of India's goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 would depend largely on its youth. "A healthy, disciplined and drug-free youth population is indispensable for nation-building. Young people can contribute to the country''s progress only when they remain free from addiction," Choudhary said.
He said the fight against substance abuse could not succeed through laws alone and required active public participation and sustained social awareness. "The government can enact laws, but their effective implementation and social acceptance depend on people''s participation," he said, calling for a mass awareness campaign involving young people across the state.
