Two more medical colleges to come up in Bengal: CM Suvendu Adhikari

Siliguri, Sep 22 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday announced that two more medical colleges and hospitals would be established in the state, one in Paschim Bardhaman and the other in Alipurduar.
The announcement comes in addition to the proposed medical college and hospital at Kalimpong, for which the foundation stone will be laid soon. The Kalimpong project was earlier announced by the Chief Minister as a major healthcare initiative for the Hills.
Asked about his meeting with Gorkha Janmukti Morcha president Bimal Gurung, the Chief Minister said Gurung had invited him to attend the organisation’s foundation day programme on October 7, where around 50,000 people are expected to gather. He said he would try to attend if his national-level engagements did not clash with the programme.
