TMC MP Mahua Moitra marries veteran BJD leader Pinaki Misra

Kolkata, June 5 (UNI) Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra has tied the knot with senior advocate and former BJD Lok Sabha member Pinaki Misra, the parliamentarian from West Bengal's Krishnahagar confirmed in a post on her X handle on Thursday evening.
Sharing a photograph where she is seen along with Misra cutting the wedding cake, Moitra wrote on X that she is grateful for the love and good wishes. "Thank you, everyone, for the love and good wishes!! So grateful," she wrote.
Moitra did not reveal the exact date of the ceremony, but according to reports, the couple entered into wedlock in Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany, on May 30.
The announcement drew congratulatory messages from several well-known personalities, including TMC Lok Sabha MP from Jadavpur, Saayoni Ghosh.
"Congratulations Mm & Pm…Mahua Moitra, Pinaki Misra, wishing you a lifetime of love and laughter!" she wrote on X.
Another TMC MP from Midnapore in West Bengal, June Maliah, wrote on her X handle, “Here’s wishing you both a very Happy and Blissful wedded life.”
Former BJP state president Dilip Ghosh too congratulated the couple/ "I extend my best wishes to them. May their new life be filled with happiness."
"When people don’t marry at what is considered the usual age for marriage, it raises eyebrows. But that’s not a crime. The marriage happened with the consent of both individuals. May their life be a happy one," said Ghosh, who recently married Rinku Majumdar at the age of 61.
Moitra, formerly an investment banker, is currently serving her second term as the MP from KrishnanagaShe had previously been a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
Moitra was earlier married to Danish financier Lars Brorson.
Misra, a veteran BJD leader, is a senior Supreme Court advocate and has represented Puri in Parliament for four terms. He was previously married to Sangeeta Misra and has two children. UNI XC SSP
