Arunachal Guv lauds Veterans, Veer Naris at grand Ex-Servicemen Rally in Rupa

Itanagar, June 15 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik has paid rich tributes to the veterans and Veer Naris, describing them as the "living embodiment of India’s spirit
of sacrifice and patriotism."
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of a large number of veterans, Veer Naris, and their families, particularly from Tawang and West Kameng districts on Saturday.
Addressed a grand Ex-Servicemen Rally at Rupa in West Kameng district, he praised their indelible contribution in defending the nation and for continuing to serve society with dedication even after retirement.
In a deeply moving gesture, Governor Parnaik commended the Veer Naris for their strength and dignity in the face of loss, calling them an inspiration for the entire nation. He emphasized that their welfare remains a top priority and instructed the Rajya Sainik Board to ensure comprehensive care and support for them and the families of martyrs.
The Governor encouraged veterans to remain informed about welfare schemes such as pension benefits, ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme), resettlement and skill development programs, and educational assistance. He also called upon the younger generation from veteran families to carry forward the proud legacy by joining the armed forces.
Describing the veterans as "natural mentors," the Governor appealed to them to guide and inspire local youth to embrace a life of service in the defence forces, contributing to the greater cause of national building.
As a former Army Commander, he reaffirmed that the welfare of veterans and Veer Naris remains his top priority, promising to raise their concerns at the highest levels.
The event was organized by the 5 Mountain Division under the aegis of Gajraj Corps, and was lauded by the Governor for its excellent execution and meaningful outreach.
The rally also featured practical assistance through help desks addressing pension, resettlement,
and healthcare queries. A fully equipped medical camp offered free consultations and check-ups.
General Officer Commanding (GOC), Gajraj Corps, Lt Gen Gambhir Singh; GOC, Ball of Fire Division, Maj Gen KS Grewal; Air Commodore (Retd) RD Mosabi, State Director cum Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board, and other senior military officers, civil dignitaries, and officials from various welfare and resettlement agencies were present.
