Braj Mohan Ram sworn in as 28th Governor of Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 (UNI) Braj Mohan Ram was sworn in as Odisha’s 28th Governor on Sunday, with Orissa High Court Chief Justice Harish Tandon administering the oath at Raj Bhavan in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other dignitaries.
Ram, a three-time BJP MP from Jharkhand, succeeded Hari Babu Kambhampati, who assumed office on January 3, 2025.
His appointment had drawn objections from Opposition parties in Odisha, which questioned his impartiality in view of his political affiliations. Opposition leaders had cited reports of his association with the BJP organisation in Jharkhand and his remarks on strengthening the party’s organisational base, arguing that such statements raised concerns about his suitability for a constitutional post.UNI MK AAB
