Bihar: Sugar mill to transform Nawada’s economic landscape

Patna, Sept 26 (UNI) The long-awaited proposal to establish a sugar mill in Nawada district has moved a significant step forward, with the state government deciding to provide 99.39 acres of land free of cost for the project.
The proposed sugar mill will be established at Makanpur village under Warsaliganj circle in Nawada district. The availability of land is expected to accelerate the next stages of the project and provide fresh momentum to efforts to establish a sugar industry in the district.
The proposed mill could have a significant impact on agriculture and the rural economy of Warsaliganj, Nawada and surrounding areas. With a local sugar mill creating a nearby market for sugarcane, farmers may have greater incentive to take up sugarcane cultivation as an additional commercial crop.
