Odisha CM launches website of State Finance Commission

Bhubaneswar, June 16 (UNI) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched the Odisha State Finance Commission's official website.
The website has been developed to invite suggestions and feedback from elected representatives, Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, Zilla Parishads, Municipal Corporations, Municipalities, Notified Area Councils, Intellectuals, Universities and Research Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, and individuals.
It also contains details of previous and current State Finance Commissions, study reports, and reports of earlier Finance Commissions for public information.
The Sixth State Finance Commission met the Chief Minister during the day and sought his valuable suggestions for empowering the local bodies of the state.
Chairman of the 6th State Finance Commission Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Principal Secretary of Finance Saswata Mishra, Principal Secretary of Electronics & Information Technology Vishal Kumar Dev, Members of the Commission Prof. Asit Ranjan Mohanty, Prof. Amaresh Samantaraya, Dr. Bibhu Prasad Nayak, and Member Secretary Dr. Satya Priya Rath were present at the meeting.
It may be noted that, in pursuance of Article 243-I and Article 243-Y of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Odisha has constituted the 6th State Finance Commission under the Chairmanship of Dr. Arun Kumar Panda.
The Commission will recommend the transfer of resources from the state government to local bodies (Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, Zilla Parishads, Municipal Corporations, Municipalities, and Notified Area Councils) for a five-year period commencing from April 1, 2026. UNI DP SSP
