PM Modi to inaugurate Rs 170-Crore AI Data Centre in Odisha on October 25

Bhubaneswar, October 22 (UNI) Odisha is set to strengthen its digital infrastructure with the inauguration of a Rs 170-crore artificial intelligence (AI) data centre in Khordha district by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 25.
Senior BJP leader Jatin Mohanty on Thursday welcomed the Prime Minister’s forthcoming visit to the state, describing the project as a significant milestone in Odisha’s journey towards becoming a major technology and digital innovation hub.
The data centre, being established near Jatni in Khordha district, is expected to play an important role in strengthening Odisha’s digital ecosystem, enhancing data security and supporting the expansion of the state’s information technology sector.
Welcoming the project, Mohanty said the facility would contribute to safeguarding citizens’ data and placing cybersecurity at the forefront of digital development.
He described the establishment of the centre as a matter of pride for Odisha, adding that the presence of a reputed institution such as RBAI in the state would accelerate the growth of the digital sector and enhance Odisha’s position at both national and international levels.
Mohanty further said the project reflected Prime Minister Modi’s confidence in Odisha’s potential to emerge as a preferred destination for technology-driven industries and semiconductor-related investments. He expressed hope that the initiative would create fresh opportunities for the state’s digital economy and strengthen its technological capabilities.
According to Mohanty, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar airport at 4 pm on October 25 before proceeding to Khordha district to inaugurate the AI data centre. After the programme, the Prime Minister is expected to return to Bhubaneswar and leave for New Delhi at around 7 pm.
Mohanty also said the October 25 visit would be Modi’s ninth visit to Odisha since the formation of the BJP-led government in the state. He added that BJP leaders and party workers were enthusiastic about the visit and eagerly looking forward to welcoming the Prime Minister.
