Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee likely to visit New Delhi Monday, call on PM Modi

Kolkata, June 5 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to visit New Delhi on Monday (June 9) and may call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her stay in the national capital, TMC sources said on Thursday.

The Chief Minister's office here, in a message to the PMO (Prime Minister Office) sought an appointment with the Prime Minister for a meeting.
The CMO has sought an appointment with the Prime Minister, preferably on June 10, a day after Banerjee is expected to reach New Delhi.
The sources said the CM would apprise the Prime Minister regarding the dues to the state under various centrally planned projects like Awas Yojana, 100 days jobs, and other schemes for poverty alleviation.
The state is yet to receive some Rs 1.75 lakh crore of Central projects dues under various schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
The Trinamool sources said the party chairperson, Mamata Banerjee is also expected to unveil a new party office in New Delhi and meet the party MPs in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
This would be the first meeting between the CM and PM post Operation Sindoor.
The TMC, right from the first day, announced it would support whatever action New Delhi would take against the terrorists for safeguarding the country's integrity and unity.
The TMC also sent its General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee as part of India's outreach mission to five countries --Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
