Buxar, Apr 20 (UNI) Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise of Rs 1.25 lakh crore financial package for Bihar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge dubbed it as an eyewash and alleged that it seems Modi and his "friend" Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of the state, shared it.
While addressing a rally ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan’ organised by his party at the Dalsagar stadium in Buxar on Saturday, Kharge asked what happened to the package promised by Modi during an electoral campaign on August 18, 2015? Accusing Modi of running a "factory of lies," he suggested that the people of Bihar ask Nitish Kumar about the promises of Modi.
Kharge said that he had already exposed 11 lies of PM Modi in the parliament and added that now he would count 12 lies for people.
The Congress leader said that Modi had talked about bringing back black money in 100 days, Rs 15 lakhs would come into the account of every citizen of India, and had assured 2 crore jobs every year. Now, 11 years have passed, and according to this, 22 crore jobs should have been created, but the fact is that 2 crore people from Bihar go out for jobs, claimed Kharge.
The Congress President said that it was also promised that petrol, diesel and LPG would be made cheaper, Ganga would be cleaned, farmers' income would be doubled, every poor person would get a house by 2022, MSP would be guaranteed, and those wearing slippers were shown the dream of air travel but the airfares have skyrocketed. He further said that 40 percent of sugar was produced in Bihar, but now it has come down to 4 percent. Factories in the state have shut down.
Lambasting Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Kharge dubbed the alliance between the BJP and Kumar as an opportunistic association. Nitish Kumar was switching sides for power (CM's post), he alleged, saying that the JDU of Kumar joined hands with the ideology that killed Mahatma Gandhi. Such a stand of Kumar put his ideologies on the dock.
Appealing to the people to vote for the Grand Alliance ( GA) in the next State elections in Bihar, Kharge alleged that Kumar has lost his political credibility by switching sides at his convenience.
