Roadshow, mega rally, multiple project launches part of Modi's Bihar trip

Patna, May 28 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Bihar commencing from Thursday during which he is scheduled to hold a grand roadshow in Patna, address a mega rally in Vikranganj of Rohtas district and dedicate and lay the foundation stones of multiple development projects.
Foolproof security arrangements have been made in view of the PM's visit, said senior sources at the state police headquarters here on Wednesday. Special deployment of magistrates and security forces have been made at all strategic locations across Patna ahead of the PM’s visit and the civic authorities have been deployed to maintain the roadshow route.
The PM is set to hit the roads here on Thursday evening for his roadshow which would start from the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport and end at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state headquarters on Veerchand Patel Path.
Meanwhile outlining details of the route chart, the Patna Police posted on X that the nearly 3-kilometre roadshow will take the Prime Minister through Dumra Chowki on Nehru Path, IPS Mess Mor, Hartali Mor, the High Court area and the Income Tax Golambar. The security has been significantly ramped up across the city, the Patna Police posted on X.
Strict surveillance would be maintained all along the route of the roadshow, informed the sources saying that the entire area will be under heightened watch.
Traffic SP Aparajit Lohan told news =persons that extensive advisories have been issued and ‘No Entry’ rule will be enforced across key areas from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm on Thursday.
He said commuters have been advised to opt for the alternate routes to reach their destinations. However, those headed to the airport have been urged to reach before 4.00 pm after which they will be allowed only with the police escort vehicles available at three designated locations.
Meanwhile, BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal told news persons that the PM, during the roadshow will be felicitated for the success of Operation Sindoor. Before taking up the roadshow, the PM would inaugurate the new terminal of the airport and lay the foundation stone for expansion of Bihta airport, he informed.
Jaiswal said the PM is slated to address a mega rally in Vikramganj of Rohtas on May 30 where he will also launch multiple developmental projects for Bihar.
As per the itinerary, the PM will inaugurate the new terminal building of Patna Airport at around 5:45 PM on Thursday and on May 30 at around 11 AM, he will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth over Rs 48,520 crore in Karakat, where he will address a public function.
The new terminal built at a cost of around Rs 1200 crore can handle one crore passengers per year. The new civil enclave of Bihta Airport is bring constructed at an expenditure of over Rs 1410 crore. The Bihta airport will serve the town which is rapidly emerging as an educational hub near Patna, housing IIT Patna and the proposed NIT Patna campus.
Boosting power infrastructure in the region, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-II (3x800 MW) in Aurangabad district worth over Rs 29,930 crore, which will aim at ensuring energy security for Bihar and eastern India. It will boost industrial growth, create job opportunities, and provide affordable electricity in the region.
In a major boost to the road infrastructure and connectivity in the region, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for various road projects and dedicate to the nation the 3rd Rail Line between Son Nagar – Mohammad Ganj worth over Rs 1330 crore, among others.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal said that the PM is expected to revisit Bihar on June 20. The state is scheduled to hold Assembly polls in October-November.
The BJP leader said this would be Modi’s third visit to Bihar this year. The PM had visited Madhubani on April 24 after the Pahalgam terror attack. The PM had also visited Bhagalpur on February 24 where he had released the 19th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme and addressed a public rally. UNI RS SSP
