Odisha BJP chief slams Congress, cites Vajpayee-era decorum

Bhubaneswar, Oct 26 (UNI) Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal, on Monday, accused the Congress of letting its frustration over being out of power spill into its political conduct, calling for greater restraint and decorum in public discourse.
Samal said ideological differences were natural in a democracy but should not lead to violations of political values and dignity. Having ruled the country for decades, the Congress must understand its responsibilities as an Opposition party, he said, alleging that its disappointment over being out of power was reflected in its political conduct.
Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Arun Jaitley, Pramod Mahajan and Sushma Swaraj, Samal said they had maintained dignity and never crossed the limits of language and decorum in politics.
