Bhubaneswar, July 3 (UNI) BJD chief Naveen Patnaik today expressed his happiness over Odisha securing the 5th rank nationally in the school grading system, as per the Performance Grading Index (PGI 2.0) report released by the Central government.
Taking to his social media platform X, the BJD chief said the state achieved a score of 595.6 and earned the PRACHESTA-3 grade for the academic year 2023–24, a significant improvement from its 14th position in 2019.
The PGI 2.0 evaluates school education based on 73 indicators across two broad categories: Outcomes and Governance & Management.
Patnaik, the former Chief Minister who led the state for a record 24 years, highlighted the role of the state’s 5T initiative in transforming around 7,000 schools, aiming to ignite new aspirations and broaden horizons for school students.
"We have always believed that New Odisha will be built by empowering every child with the power of education," he posted.
Patnaik said, “Glad that the robust foundation of government school education is helping students excel. I thank all the teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff for their contribution to this remarkable transformation,”
