Bengal BJP announces major organisational reshuffle ahead of civic polls

Kolkata, Sep 25 (UNI) The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has announced a major organisational reshuffle ahead of the municipal elections, with several new faces being brought into key positions.
The changes, announced on Friday through a notification issued by the central leadership, cover the party’s women’s, youth and OBC fronts as well as several organisational districts and state-level posts. The reshuffle comes after a series of meetings involving senior state and central BJP leaders and is being viewed within the party as part of preparations for the upcoming civic polls.
The changes have also been made in line with the BJP’s “one post, one person” principle. As a result, three ministers — Tapas Roy, Jagannath Chattopadhyay and Agnimitra Paul — have been relieved of organisational responsibilities, according to party sources.
