Security Forces recover 18k detonators in West Singhbhum Forests

Chaibasa, July 2 (UNI) In a major breakthrough against left-wing extremism, security forces recovered around 18,000 live detonators in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
The recovery occurred during a joint search operation launched on July 1, based on critical intelligence inputs.
The operation was carried out by a joint team comprising personnel from the Chaibasa district police, CRPF 60 Battalion, and the Jharkhand Jaguar force.
The team focused their search efforts on the Tangi–Igmari forest area, located near Guhili village, within the jurisdiction of Tonto police station.
The operation led to the unearthing of a cache of detonators buried underground, suspected to have been stored by CPI (Maoist) cadres.
The ammunition was recovered with the coordinated efforts of local sources and the involvement of highly trained security personnel, The explosives were seized and secured from the spot. Preliminary procedures have begun to trace those responsible for storing the explosive material.
Further search operations and legal proceedings are underway.
