Two killed, three injured, over 1000 affected due to heavy rain in Meghalaya

Shillong, May 30 (UNI) Two people, including a woman, lost their lives and three others sustained injuries due to landslides and drowning triggered by heavy rains in Meghalaya on Friday.
Klosliya Kharkongor, a 50-year-old woman died after a landslide struck her home in Lumkyntung village under Laitkroh- Khatarshnong Block, while Samborlang Tariang (35) drowned at Wah Krot in Mawbynna at Pomlakrai, Commissioner & Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management department, Sanjay Goyal said.
Goyal also informed that at least 1023 population in 25 villages have been affected due to the rain-induced.
