Anupam Kher shares warm reunion with Robert De Niro over lunch, says ‘meeting this legend is always a joy’

New York, Oct 6 (UNI) Bollywood veteran Anupam Kher shared a glimpse of his warm reunion with Hollywood legend Robert De Niro during his ongoing US and Canada tour for his play 'Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane'.
Calling De Niro his “dearest friend” and one of the world’s finest actors, Anupam Kher took to Instagram and X to share a series of pictures and videos expressing his joy at meeting the Oscar-winning star, who also invited him to his home for lunch.
“Meeting Mr. Robert De Niro! How could I come to America and not meet my dearest friend, and world’s FINEST actor, Mr. Robert De Niro? Meeting this legend is always a joy, and once again, one of the most special highlights of my trip to America and Canada with my play #JaanePehchaaneAnjane!,” he wrote.
The actor further added, “Thank you, dearest Mr. De Niro, for inviting me into your home, for the delicious lunch, and for your love and warmth. Our conversations and your generosity with your time mean so much to me. Every time we meet, the admirer in me is as excited as the friend!.”
Meanwhile, Kher praised De Niro not only for his remarkable contribution to cinema but also for his warmth, humility and generosity. Expressing his gratitude to De Niro and his family for their time and hospitality, Kher said he felt “truly fortunate” to call the Oscar-winning actor his friend.
“I have the deepest respect for you, both as an actor and as a person. And I feel truly fortunate to be able to call you my friend. My love and gratitude to you, Tiffany and your entire family. Thank you for another beautiful memory that I will carry home with me. God bless you always!,” he wrote with delight.
He concluded his message, “Most importantly- THANK YOU for the cap. Your kind gesture means the world to me! #RobertDeNiro #Legend #Friendship.”
This meeting comes as a part of Anupam Kher’s tour to America and Canada for his musical play ‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjane’, adding another memorable chapter to his international journey.
The Hindi stage production ‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjane’ is presented by the Anupam Kher Studio and features Kher alongside actor Swaroop Sampat. The music for the play has been composed by singer Anu Malik, marking his first time composing for a stage production.
