Army School, British School in Delhi receive bomb threat email, forces declare them hoax

New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) At least three schools in Delhi received alleged bomb threats today, but they were later declared a hoax, officials said.
Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan, British School in Chanakyapuri and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate received bomb threats via emails.
A call was received from Army Public School in the Dhaula Kuan area at 11.30 am, said a Delhi Fire Service official. Fire engines were rushed to the spot, and around 1:05 pm, after a thorough check, the bomb threat was declared a hoax, he added.
School authorities alerted police and other emergency response teams and evacuated the building, moving the students out of the premises.
In a notice, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya said students were safely evacuated from the premises after a security threat was received. Police were informed and were taking necessary steps, it said.

Security personnel searched the school buildings and surrounding areas for any suspicious objects or materials. But “no explosive or suspicious object was found during the checks,” said an officer. Police were also looking into the source of the emails and examining the details of the threats as part of the probe.
Subsequently, the threat was declared a hoax after security agencies completed their inspection, the official said.
A further investigation is still underway to identify the source of the emails, he added.
