SLINEX-26: Indian, Sri Lankan navies deepen maritime cooperation

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) The Indian and Sri Lankan navies are conducting the 13th edition of their bilateral maritime exercise, SLINEX-26, at Visakhapatnam, with the exercise aimed at strengthening operational cooperation, interoperability and mutual understanding between the two maritime forces.
The exercise began with the Harbour Phase under the aegis of the Eastern Naval Command and will culminate in a Sea Phase featuring coordinated naval activities at sea.
The Indian Navy is participating with INS Kavaratti, an indigenously built Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette, and INS Jyoti, a fleet tanker, while the Sri Lanka Navy is represented by SLNS Sindurala.
The Harbour Phase commenced with an opening ceremony and a reception hosted onboard INS Kavaratti for the crew of the visiting Sri Lankan naval ship. The programme includes professional interactions between personnel of the two navies, cross-deck visits and exchanges on operational practices.
The two sides are also undertaking a range of sports, yoga and cultural activities as part of the harbour engagements, providing opportunities for personnel to interact and build greater familiarity.
The forthcoming Sea Phase will focus on enhancing tactical coordination and operational synergy through joint activities at sea, further strengthening the ability of the two navies to operate together in the maritime domain.
Conceptualised in 2005, SLINEX has developed into an important platform for sustained maritime engagement between India and Sri Lanka. Over the years, the exercise has expanded its focus from professional exchanges to coordinated operational activities, contributing to greater interoperability between the two navies.
SLINEX-26 is also being conducted in line with India's vision of MAHASAGAR, underlining New Delhi's emphasis on a secure, stable and inclusive maritime environment in the Indian Ocean region.
The exercise is expected to further consolidate the longstanding maritime partnership between India and Sri Lanka while providing both navies an opportunity to exchange operational experience and enhance their preparedness for coordinated maritime operations.UNI PWS AAB

Cybercrime pendency falls sharply as Delhi Police steps up MRM, GRM disposal

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Delhi Police have sharply reduced pendency under the Money Restoration Module (MRM) and Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM) of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), bringing the pendency in both mechanisms down from around 90 per cent a month ago to 13.60 per cent and 16.30 per cent, respectively.
