New Delhi, June 9 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday asked his department to make a provision of Rs 25 crore over and above the Central Government's compensation for 2060 houses damaged in Pakistan's shelling.
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced additional compensation for houses damaged by Pakistani shelling in the border districts of Jammu and Kashmir following Operation Sindoor.
As a special case, the Prime Minister announced additional compensation of Rs two lakh each for fully damaged house and Rs one lakh each for partially damaged house. The Ministry of Home Affairs has ensured swift implementation of this decision. Similar compensation will also be provided in the border areas of Punjab, a Home Ministry statement said.
