75 Afghans benefited by prosthetic limbs at India's Jaipur Foot camp in Kabul

New Delhi, June 29 (UNI) As part of its continuing humanitarian outreach to the people of Afghanistan, India has organised a five-day Jaipur Foot camp in Kabul, by the Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti, which saw 75 prosthetic limbs fitted.The MEA spokesperson in a post on X said:

“As part of India’s ongoing humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan, a five-day Jaipur Foot camp was organised in Kabul by BMVSS, Jaipur.

“The camp saw an enthusiastic response, with around 75 prosthetic limbs successfully fitted.”

The pictures posted by the spokesperson show prosthetic limbs being fitted on Afghan persons who have lost either a leg, or a foot.This comes as Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, who is visiting Zimbabwe, inaugurated a Jaipur Foot camp in Maputo, funded by the Government of India.

He informed in a post on X:

“Inaugurated Jaipur Foot (artificial limb fitment) camp in Maputo along with Health Minister of Mozambique, HE Dr. Ussene Hilario Isse.

“Funded by GoI, the camp will provide artificial limbs to around 1200 beneficiaries, positively impacting the lives of beneficiaries and their families.”

New York/New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) Terming terrorism as one of the gravest threats to humanity, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today said the world must come together on some basic concepts: no impunity to terrorists, no treating them as proxies and no yielding to nuclear blackmail. Addressing the gathering at the exhibition on "The Human Cost of Terrorism”, organized by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, he also said that any state sponsorship must be exposed and must be countered.He said the exhibition is a modest yet resolute effort to give voice to those who can no longer speak.
