Food safety crackdown on Delhi CM’s direction, irregularities found at big e-commerce brand warehouses, 19 ghee samples unsafe

New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) The Delhi government has stepped up its efforts to protect the health of Delhiites and curb food adulteration on the directions of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
An extensive enforcement drive is underway by the Delhi Government’s Food Safety Department on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s directions, where the officials are conducting raids on warehouses, while the dark stores operated by e-commerce and quick-commerce companies are also being inspected, with samples of various Desi Ghee brands also undergoing testing.
The department during the inspections so far has unearthed expired food products, the presence of pests, unhygienic storage conditions and shortcomings in maintaining the required temperature at several premises.
