SC gives ECI three months to decide TMC name, symbol dispute

New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to decide within three months the dispute over the All India Trinamool Congress name and its “flowers and grass” symbol after rival factions led by former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Leader of Opposition in West Bengal assembly Ritabrata Banerjee complete their pleadings.

BJP accuses Rahul Gandhi of ‘undermining democracy’

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) The BJP on Thursday slammed Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, accusing them of “distrusting the Supreme Court’s handling of appeals related to the SIR exercise.”
Calling the ECI issue that INDIA Bloc has been raising a "dispute between the Gandhi-Vadra family and the people of India," BJP’s Pradeep Bhandari claimed the “Congress party is fighting against ‘We, the People of India’”
“This battle is between the Congress party, its workers and the Gandhi-Vadra family; and the people of India, who are silently witnessing the party’s hooliganism,” he said.
