New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the Centre to pay Rs 2,291.30 crore, accusing it of withholding funds for various education schemes.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government in the state has accused the Centre of withholding funds under the Samagra Shiksha Yojana for non-implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and PM Shri.
In the original petition filed under Article 131 of the Constitution, the state sought a direction to the Central government to pay Rs 2,291.30 crore, including six per cent per annum interest on the principal amount of Rs 2,151.59 crore from May 1 this year.
