PM Modi leaves for India after concluding Sri Lanka visit

Colombo/New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday left for India after concluding his two-day State visit to Sri Lanka.
In a post on X, the PM said his visit will surely add momentum to the bilateral relations.
He also expressed gratitude to the Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka for the warm welcome during his visit.
“Deeply grateful to President Dissanayake, the people and Government of Sri Lanka for the warmth extended during my visit.
“Be it in Colombo or Anuradhapura, this visit has reaffirmed the deep cultural, spiritual and civilisational ties between our two nations.
“It will surely add momentum to our bilateral relations.”
The MEA spokesperson said in a post:
“A very productive State Visit to Sri Lanka concludes. PM @narendramodi emplanes for India.”
The PM left for India from Anuradhapura, where he along with Sri Lankan President Dissanayaka inaugurated some India-assisted railway projects, and also visited a revered Buddhist temple.
On Saturday, the PM was in Colombo where he held talks with President Dissanayaka and both sides inked seven agreements, including on defence cooperation and a trilateral agreement with the UAE for developing Trincomalee as an energy hub.
Earlier, the PM was in Bangkok, Thailand, where he attended the sixth BIMSTEC summit and also held bilateral talk with leaders of the countries there.
