Look forward to working together to expand bilateral ties: PM Modi congratulates ROK's new President

New Delhi, June 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated South Korea’s new President Lee Jae-Myung and said he looks forward to working together to further expand and strengthen the bilateral strategic partnership.
In a post on X, the PM said:
“Congratulations to Mr Lee Jae-Myung on being elected as the President of the Republic of Korea.
“Look forward to working together to further expand and strengthen the India-ROK Special Strategic Partnership.”
South Koreans on Tuesday elected Democratic Party (DP) candidate Lee Jae-myung as the country’s new president for a five-year term.
The vote was triggered by an abortive attempt by his predecessor Yoon Suk Yeol to invoke martial law last December.
Lee, 61, secured more than 49% of the vote to become South Korea’s 14th president, according to the Yonhap News.
