New Delhi, June 27 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh today slammed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), accusing it of never accepting the Constitution of India and persistently targeting its principal architects, including Dr BR Ambedkar and Jawaharlal Nehru, since 1949.
The Congress reaction came a day after RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, speaking at an event, demanded removal of the words “socialist” and “secular” from the Preamble, arguing that they were inserted during the Emergency by the then Congress government. Hosabale also demanded an apology from the Congress for imposing Emergency on June 25, 1975.
