Congress alleges attendance fraud, diversion of funds in UP VB-G RAM G Scheme

New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh on Thursday accused the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh of corruption in the implementation of the VB-G RAM G scheme, alleging manipulation of digital attendance records and the use of cloned applications in several districts, including Ayodhya. He demanded an impartial investigation across the state, claiming the alleged irregularities pointed to another instance of corruption under the BJP’s “double-engine government”.
In a post on social media platform X, Ramesh said, “The game of looting continues unabated under the so-called double-engine government in Uttar Pradesh. Those who did not spare even the Ram temple from vote theft, how could they spare the workers?”
Referring to the alleged discrepancies in Ayodhya and other districts, Ramesh said the reported manipulation of digital attendance and use of cloned applications raised serious questions about the implementation of the scheme and the protection of workers’ rights.
He demanded that the state government explain the alleged irregularities in the handling of public funds and payments meant for workers. “The BJP must answer for the looting of workers’ rights and public money. There should be an impartial investigation across the entire state,” he said.
Ramesh also referred to a press conference by Uttar Pradesh Congress president Aradhana Mishra on the issue, highlighting the state Congress leadership’s efforts to raise questions over the scheme’s implementation. The party has sought accountability over the functioning of the digital attendance system, which is used to record workers’ presence and is linked to the administration of wage payments.
The allegations have brought renewed scrutiny to the implementation of the employment scheme in Uttar Pradesh, particularly the reliability of digital attendance records and safeguards against the alleged misuse of public money. The Congress has called for a comprehensive probe into the reported irregularities, including those involving cloned applications, to establish responsibility and ensure that workers receive their legitimate dues.
