New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and urged her to resolve various budgetary and financial issues of the state.

The CM told media in the State Information Department on Friday that he met Sitharaman on Thursday night and urged her to pay attention to the issues related to the state government.

The CM discussed the issue of apple import from Turkiye and also urged for an increase in import duty on apples to protect the interests of domestic growers of the state.

The Chief Minister urged the finance minister to increase the borrowing limit of Himachal Pradesh and other special category states by at least two per cent.

The Chief Minister also met Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil and urged him to expedite the release of pending funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He urged Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to release pending funds for tourism projects and approve pending projects in the state.

Sukhu urged Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to address issues related to the interests of the state and increase the state's free share of power in hydro power projects run by Public Sector Undertakings and Central Public Sector Undertakings.
