Rahul Gandhi questions Bihar Govt over recurring floods, seeks account of 17 years of ‘Double-Engine’ rule

New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has stepped up his criticism of the BJP-led government in Bihar over the state’s recurring flood crisis, asking what concrete measures have been taken over the past 17 years to prevent an annual disaster that claims lives, displaces families and forces people to migrate.
In a post on social media platform X, Gandhi said the latest floods had once again wreaked havoc across Bihar, with millions of people affected, hundreds of villages submerged and reports of deaths and people still missing.
Expressing his “deepest condolences” to families who had lost their loved ones, Gandhi said the most disturbing aspect was that the crisis was neither unexpected nor new.
